Driving Backwards. Wait, what!?

As a hairstylist, one of the things my clients ask about the most is how to get more lift or volume in their hair.  Another thing is how to make their hair look different without changing the length or color drastically ( hahahahahahaha!)

The easiest way to change things up without a huge commitment is change the way you part your hair! It is the most simple answer yet so many of my girls just refuse to accept it as an option! I know, I know, this is how you've always done it, I get it! It feels weird, looks dumb, has cowlicks, doesn't stay....I always liken it to driving on the wrong side of the road or backwards.

But really, it just takes a bit of practice and stepping out of your comfort zone. It doesn't have to be completely crazy,  just shake up your part a little or push it back at your crown.  Do it. You might like it!

And may I say if you are really looking for a challenge, try applying your makeup with the opposite hand! That is like riding a bike backwards with your eyes closed in sand! (Or not, but it was way more complicated than I thought it would be!)  you can watch it right now!

Ridiculous fun!

Cheers to driving backwards!

  1. I switch hand when I apply makeup on each side of my face, my left though isn't all that steady haha so sometimes I have to go back in and fix it. I think it turned out pretty good!

    1. Omg I don't think I could every day! Although it would probably get easier with practice! Why do you switch, for symmetry/balance?

    2. I have really bad eyesight and have to get really close to the mirror if I don't switch hands I can't see each side of my face very well lol

    3. I really did lol when I read your comment! Awww, that kinda stinks! I had to start wearing glasses when I was 4. I stopped wearing them in 9th grade cuz a boy told me I looked cuter without them! What I would tell myself then, geez! I still wear them but I can def apply mu without them! Haha! Hope you have a great day! Xo L
